Pass Plus The Next Step!

Great! You’ve passed your driving test – now you can drive on your own at last. But it doesn’t stop there, this is just the end of the beginning… Getting your own car will give you the independence you need. For a new driver, the cost of insurance can be sky high.

And the reason for this? Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their driving test than at any other time in their driving career.

Age doesn’t matter – it’s basically down to lack of experience. That’s where PASS PLUS comes in!

Pass Plus takes new drivers and provides lessons that are tailored to cover as many situations you are likely to encounter on the road. This includes motorway lessons and driving on country roads and in towns.

You will not have a test at the end of the course but you will be continuously assessed. You must successfully complete all the modules in the course to achieve or exceed the standards. When completed, a driving standards certificate is sent to you. Discount on your insurance can often be the equivalent to one years no claims bonus when you insure your car. You can also get discounts in some areas ranging from £20-£100 of the price of the complete course if you are aged 17-25 years

What is the Theory Test?

The theory test is a touchscreen based test, and consists of two parts. The first part is a series of multiple choice questions and the second part is a test of your hazard perception skills. It is the multiple choice part that you can practise on this site.

multiple choice questionsThe multiple choice part consists of 50 multiple choice questions. In the actual test you select your answers by simply touching the screen. You need to touch the box alongside the answer or answers you think are correct. If you change your mind and don’t want that answer to be selected, touch it again. You can then choose another answer. (This on-line version does not use a touch screen).

A question and several answer options will appear onscreen and you have to select the correct answer(s) to the question by using the mouse. Some questions may require more than one answer.

There are 50 questions and you have 57 minutes to complete the test. You can navigate between questions and ‘flag’ questions that you want to come back to later in the test.

The pass mark for the multiple choice part of the theory test is 43 out of 50.

The hazard perception part is delivered on a computer and you respond by clicking a button on the mouse. You will be presented with a series of 14 video clips which feature every day road scenes, in each clip there will be at least one developing hazard, but one of the clips will feature two developing hazards.

To achieve a high score you will need to respond to the developing hazard during the early part of its development. The maximum you can score on each hazard is five.

You will not be able to review your answers to the hazard perception test; as on the road, you will only have one chance to respond to the developing hazard.

The pass mark for the car and motorcycle hazard perception part of the theory test is 44 out of 75.
